How I'm Coping with the Coronavirus Fallout
We are all experiencing difficulty as a result of the coronavirus. Although I am healthy, more and more people are testing positive worldwide. The stock market has plummeted. Stores are being depleted of hand sanitizer, toilet paper, paper towels and bottled water. Brick and mortar businesses are closing their doors. Small businesses like Global Attic are faced with more than usual financial uncertainty, and we are all being asked to quarantine ourselves in an effort to contain the spread of the virus. It is a heavy pill to swallow. However, I’m not panicking.
After losing my parents two months apart and all of the losses that followed thereafter, I learned a thing or two about survival. In times like these, I believe it is most important to stay calm. My father in his wisdom always reminded me that in life, we don’t control much. However, what we do control is our response to the things that life throws our way. We cannot allow our fears around this virus or anything else for that matter, to manifest in the form of physical stress that only makes matters worse. A healthy mindset is the gateway to getting through tough times. This I know to be true.
Action is also integral to our survival. Instead of burying my hand in the proverbial sand or retreating to a corner to cry, I meditate for 20 minutes each day, read, work out, play guitar and watch movies.
As far as the business goes, I have started to produce more visually stunning content via our Facebook & Instagram social media feeds. This content is aimed at educating and elevating the moods of our community as I believe we could use the distractions from all of the drama.
Since travel has become restricted these days, we can escape into these photos as beautiful reminders of what will soon become a reality - remember think positively! Looking at gorgeous travel photos and inspiring interiors is what I love doing so I will compile more images for our eyes to drool over. Be sure to follow us on social media for these images. I am also creating blog posts with advice on how we can best navigate our time at
home to stave off cabin fever.

Small businesses will be hit hardest by this quarantine. Since shopping makes many of us feel better, I encourage you to shop more consistently online if possible. For those of you who would like to support Global Attic specifically, I’ve created the GLOBALFB promo code. With this promo code, you will save $50 on your orders of $150 or more. In an effort to give everyone an opportunity to shop and save, the code will not expire until April 30. Thank you to all of those who have already placed their trust in us and have continued to order from us during this time. I truly appreciate and am grateful for your business.
New items to decorate your home in tribal luxe coastal style arriving soon!
Finally, to further stimulate the economy and help our trade partners, I have placed orders for new inventory that should arrive in a couple of weeks. Please see our pre-orders collection to purchase other previously sold-out or unavailable items. Again, so everything doesn't totally collapse, we have to do what we can to breathe life into this economy.
That’s all I have for right now, but please take comfort in my commitment to helping us all survive the wrath of this virus. I'll be thinking of other ways I can serve our community better and am confident that we will make it through to the other side of this thing. In the meantime, don’t hesitate to email me at kabria@globalattic.com if there is other content that I can produce for you or if there are ways that I can be of greater assistance to you personally during this trying time.
Take care of yourselves today and for always,
Kabria
