Tribal Armlet with Red Fibers - Tall
Five, large shell bracelets bound together with red woven plant fiber from Papua New Guinea. These stunning accessories are symbols of wealth. They are made by cutting clam shell rings (Wenga) or bracelets from giant clam shells using a bamboo knife. Historically, these pieces were and are still being used today for trade between coastal villages, in special ceremonies, or given for marriage dowries. Comes on custom black metal stand.
